The city of Hamburg is always associated with its great harbour which is the largest in Germany and the third biggest in Europe. A connection with the rest of the world is therefore naturally. The celebration of the anniversary is a must – and the program always spectacular. A grand arrival parade, the legendary Patrouille Suisse, the world’s only tug ballet and many more programmes by land, by sea and by air. Furthermore, the fastest sailing ships (e.g. MIR) as well as the most beautiful cruise liners (e.g. MS Deutschland, AIDA) anchor in the port of Hamburg to celebrate the 82th Port Birthday from 8th May until 10th May 2009.
